General Emergency Format

 

1. “This is (your call sign) calling the Toccoa Amateur Radio Society 2 Meter Net.”

2. “This net is now activated at (Time).”

3. “This is a Directed Net. Direct ALL communications through this Net Control. Keep your transmissions short and brief.”

4. “All stations are requested to monitor the frequency but do not call in unless you have Emergency traffic or important information related to the Emergency.”

5. “This net was activated because:

6. ID the net periodically.

7. Take check-ins during slow times of the net (Call Sign & Location).

 

*** Note: When the emergency does not exist anymore, secure the net.

 

8. “This is (your call sign), Net Control for the Toccoa Amateur Radio Society 2 Meter Net thanking all stations who have participated. Your help has been greatly appreciated. All stations may now secure. This net is now secured at (Time). This is (your call sign) out.”

 

 

*** The net control’s responsibility during a communications emergency is to coordinate all traffic, supervise the net, and get necessary help to those stations requesting it. ***
